Jae-Ha Kim got her first passport at the age of 4 and hasn’t stopped traveling. A New York Times bestselling author and syndicated columnist, she has cheered on Hobbits battling Orcs in New Zealand, eaten her way through Seoul’s delicious street carts and rappelled down some of Colorado’s steepest cliffs — all in pursuit of a great story.
Kim has written for a variety of national publications (Hollywood Reporter, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly), as well as regional newspapers such as the New York Post, San Francisco Examiner and Denver Post. She was a music critic and pop culture reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times, before launching her nationally syndicated travel column, “Go Away With … ” (which runs in outlets such as the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and Baltimore Sun).
Kim also wrote the first book about the hit sitcom “Friends” and is a co-editor of several travel books.
Her television experience includes Fox News Chicago, where she was an on-air entertainment critic. In addition, she has appeared as a guest on NBC’s “Today,” “Entertainment Tonight,” A&E’s “Biography” and E! Entertainment.
Kim has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
